Think Reggie was West Ham!
And yeh, the East End was full of boxers. We've always been noted for it. Someone always knows someone, or are related to an ex-boxer. Normally within the same network.
Me cousin's still a trainer now.
And me old man (88) still a member of he London ex-boxers Association. (Meetings on 1st Sunday of each month up old st).

To be fair there is hardly anything in it distance wise to either ground, so can understand why Bethnal had plenty of Yiddish.
Always thought the island was more West Ham than Millwall but now days it is probably got hardly any of either left.

Agree with that, The Duchess's family are all of that ilk and 'connected' and not one of their generation had the mildest interest in football - all the blokes boxed, some well, some very well and all loved it above any sport

They may not have been bothered about football and were boxing fans instead. Quite a few old east end were more boxing than football.

And also that British rail line runs through Bethnal Green/Cambridge heath so straighter route to shite fart lane.
And there was a lot of gooners fm
Hackney years ago. Prob cos it edges into Islington (balls pond road/Southgate rd) so again, easier route and nearer.
There's always been West Ham in b.green though (was a little mob in the 70s/80s).
Anyway it's getting too fuckin technical now!!
They're a bunch of tossers whatever.

Don’t understand the Tottenham Bethnal Green thing. My Grandad was from Bethnal Green/Hackney area and was Arsenal. How can you support Tottenham and be from the East End. Just wrong. I guess the Jewish connection back in the day

The island was always a mix.
But as has been said, apart from millwall old timers, the rest of tower hamlets was nearly all West Ham (though Bethnal Green was mainly front wheels and gooners with a few Orient old timers thrown in!).
And once again, Prospects was superb and brings back good memories. Especially seeing some of the old haunts. And the East End in general.

About right.
The island is the only part of east Tower Hamlets where another team had a significant amount of supports. Obviously west of Stepney it gets more mixed with Spurs and Arsenal.
Didn't they stop showing England games on big screens outside for a while after a load of West Ham and Millwall had a barney on the island during the 2006 World Cup?

I worked in Millwall Dock 1967/1980 most I worked with were West Ham also played in a band in the Tooke Arms pub which was unfortunately Scum.
Happy days.

Way back my people were Poplar, Stepney (Salmon Lane), Limehouse and St. George in the East.
They were West Ham from everything I was told but they were also super strong union.

Quite a few old boys I knew from the Island, Stepney and Poplar were Millwall supporters.
Most of them dead now.
